It is an agent used to expell wind and retained water, alleviating pain, nourishing the liver and kidneys, by tonifying qi (increases the body's energy to) and the blood.

It is used to treat chronic arthralgia (joint pain) caused by rheumatoid arthritis, deficiency of the liver and kidneys, and deficiency of qi and blood.

Symptoms include aching and weakness of the loins and knees, limpness, difficulty in flexing and extending the limbs, or numbness and tingling, aversion to cold and preference for warmth, palpitations, shortness of breath, pale tongue with white coating, and thin and weak pulse.

功用：为祛湿剂，具有祛风湿，止痹痛，益肝肾，补气血之功效。主治痹证日久，肝肾两虚，气血不足证。主要症状有腰膝疼痛、痿软，肢节屈伸不利，或麻木不仁；畏寒喜温，心悸气短，舌淡苔白，脉细弱。
